How is Dinner to Doorbells different than other meal delivery services?

Unlike most meal delivery kits, we have done the chopping, measuring and sauteing for you. Our meals are cooked fresh locally and delivered to you - you simply heat and enjoy. Our service is not a subscription like the other services are -- just order when you want and pay as you go!

 Do I need to commit to a contract or subscription?

No! Dinners to Doorbells gives you the flexibility to order on a week by week basis. We are not a subscription -- you pay as you go!

 Where are Dinner to Doorbells' operations located?

We currently operate out of a commercially licensed kitchen, The Incubator Kitchen Collective  located at 517 W 7th St, Newport, KY 41071.

 What is the ordering timeline?

New menus are posted online Wednesday morning and orders are due by midnight on Tuesday, for delivery that coming Sunday or Monday. Always look at the banner on the top of our website to know when orders are due and when those orders will be delivered.

 Do you have a referral program?

Yes! Your referrals mean the world to us. Click on the purple icon in the bottom right corner of our website to learn how to use our referral program. Friends that use your referral link will receive 10% off their first order, and you will receive a $10 reward code once they have made their first purchase!

 Can I make substitutions/modifications to my order?

We have a few built in customizations each week (such as "omit cheese for dairy free, omit chicken for vegetarian, substitute corn tortillas for gluten free, etc"). If you have a request beyond what we offer, you can add your customization request in the notes section on the checkout page. We cannot guarantee these requests, but we try our best to accommodate when possible. We will be sure to email you if a request is not possible on our end.

 I want to change my order for the week but I already submitted, who should I talk to?

Send us an email at info@dinnertodoorbells.com, and if we haven't started cooking for the week, then we should have no issue accommodating your change!

 Do you have a loyalty program?

We love our customers and love to reward them! Click on the purple icon in the bottom right corner of our website to learn how you can receive rewards for total dollars spent, sharing us on facebook, and even in your birthday month!

 I forgot to submit my order, do you make an exception for late orders?

Orders are due by Tuesday at midnight; however, we understand that life happens sometimes. Send us an e-mail with your late submission and we will do our best to accommodate your order. We will email you an invoice if we are able to fulfill your order. Please understand that a $5 late fee will be added to any late order invoices.

 Do you have an order minimum?

Yes, we do have a $50 order minimum to help us cover the cost of our local delivery fees. Many of our meals arrive frozen and can be used over a three month period. 

 What is your delivery radius?

We currently delivery within the Greater Cincinnati area. We assess delivery fees based on zip code (free delivery for zip codes inside the 275 loop, and $10 delivery fee for zip codes outside of the 275 loop (within 15 miles)).

 What days are meals delivered?

We deliver meals on Sunday and Monday each week. When checking out, you will choose which day you'd like your meals delivered. You will receive an email from us a few days in advance, letting you know what your 2-hour delivery window will be.

 How do I know when my delivery will arrive?

Orders are delivered on Sundays or Mondays depending on your preference. We will send you an e-mail a few days before your delivery with a 2-hour delivery window, so you know when to expect your meals. We ask that if you won’t be home that you leave a cooler out to help ensure your meals stay frozen. Our delivery drivers will ring your doorbell and/or knock when they arrive (unless you have added a note in your order asking to not knock, or if you have a posted sign). If there is no answer, they will leave your meals in your cooler or on your front porch if there is no cooler.

Also, if you use your cell phone to order, we will text you when we are about an hour away and also when your food has been delivered. 

 Do you have a pickup option?

We do! If you’d prefer to pick up from our kitchen, you will select your pickup day and time frame when checking out. You will receive an e-mail on Wednesday reminding you of your pickup day and time and give you a phone number to text when you arrive. We will bring your order out to your car.

 I have a lot of extra delivery bags, what should I do with them?

We do re-use our Dinner to Doorbells cooler bags. Please set them out on your porch prior to your delivery time, and our driver will be sure to return them to our kitchen for reuse. We really appreciate them being returned as it's good for the environment and helps us keeps costs down!

 We are moving, how do I change my address?

When placing your order, be sure to enter your new address in the Shipping Information section. Feel free to add a note on the checkout page as well to confirm that we deliver to your new address going forward.

 What happens if I'm not home for delivery?

Our delivery drivers will ring your doorbell and/or knock when they arrive (unless you have added a note in your order asking not to knock, or if you have a posted sign). If there is no answer, they will leave your meals in your provided cooler (if applicable) or on your front porch.

If I am busy during your delivery windows, can you deliver at a different time?

Unfortunately, the delivery window cannot be changed because we create routes that are most efficient for our drivers.  If the delivery window does not work for you, we can always arrange for you to pick up your meals from our kitchen.

 I have special delivery instructions (live in an apartment, would like it in a certain spot), what should I do?

When placing your order, add any helpful delivery tips into the notes section on the checkout page. We will be sure to pass these along to your delivery driver! 

 Can you deliver meals to hospitals/nursing homes?

Absolutely! We will need specific delivery instructions, as well as a phone number for someone to contact once we arrive with the delivery.

 My delivery is incomplete/wrong, who should I contact?

Oh no! We strive to make zero mistakes while packing orders, however, mistakes can happen, and we always want to help make it right when they do! Email us at info@dinnertodoorbells.com and we will work to get your correct items to you, or issue you a refund.

 Are meals delivered frozen or refrigerated?

Some of our meals are delivered frozen. Salads, Power Pack Meals & grain bowls arrive refrigerated. Each product description on our website lists if that meal arrives frozen or refrigerated.

 What do serving sizes look like?

 For casseroles, pastas, quinoa bakes, etc, each serving is 1 lb. A 2-person serving, for example, will arrive in a 2 lb foil container. For soups, each serving is 16 oz per person. Each salad arrives in a 32 oz container.

Power Pack Meals arrive in individually portioned meals with macro nutrients listed online and on the container.

 Where can I find nutritional information on the meals?

We currently only offer nutritional information for our Power Pack Meal Line.

The nutritional information is listed on both the description page and on the container of the meal.

 Do you take requests for repeat meals?

Absolutely! We love hearing your feedback and are happy to take menu suggestions from our customers!

 Are you going to start to specialize meals around popular diets (keto, paleo, whole30)?

If you are on a special diet, look to our power pack meals to best fit your dietary needs.

We are happy to make adjustments to our meals to help fit them into your diet. For example, in the notes feel free to ask to omit the rice and add double vegetables, etc. We are slowly adding different options (such as our new Keto friendly "mac" and cheese) and will continue to do so. We hope in the future to continue to add more diet specific options.
